President Obama's new specialists on Urban strategies
Read on the March (2009) issue of Architect Magazine, special "The City of Tomorrow, Post-boom, post-oil, post-ego', Barack Obama has named his Chief of Urban Affairs. Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr joined the Obama Team to lead the new White House Office of Urban Affairs. He is born on March 6, 1961. Mr Carrion JR is Democratic politician of Puerto Rican descent.
Other specialist that has been named is Mr Briggs from MIT. Xavier Souza Briggs is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Urban Planning in the famous MIT. He, like Mr Carrion, has been named Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget. In his new position, Mr Briggs will oversee six importants agencies, the departments of Housing and Urban Development, Treasury, Transportation, Justice, Commerce and Homeland Security.
Mr Briggs is not a newcomer in Politics. He has been called to Washington in 1998 as assistant Secretary for Policy Development and research in the department of Housing and Urban
